This zine collects diaries I wrote, photos I took, recorded sounds and radio recordings from my study abroad on Penang Island, Malaysia, between October 2023 and August 2024. It is about 70 pages long and contains diary pages, photo pages, and project pages. The project pages compile things like records of cooking for myself during my exchange, hawker food, and 'meals I'd like to serve when Takako Matsu comes to my house'. Also, there are several QR codes in the book; scanning them lets you listen to locally recorded sounds (the azan/prayer call, sounds from the streets) and a solo radio where I talk about what happened that day. Below is part of a diary entry that inspired this zine. I wanted to include it here in the hope that it conveys a bit of what it was like. 'I feel completely down at times, fall completely in love at times, scream, run, wake up early for no reason, or can't get out of bed until evening. Nothing goes well, something always hurts, but I can't help being so happy with this life. It's similar to the feeling near the end of a long-distance run when you taste blood in your mouth and still psych yourself up and take another lap. Lately it's felt like that all the time, and it's been fun.' I hope this book can travel to many places.

The Day My Mother Really Died — My Mother Knew That 'Her Time' Would Come. +9

The Day My Mother Really Died — My Mother Knew That 'Her Time' Would Come.

B6 / 110 pages Only the memoir section was released on Kindle in 2014. The author's name is listed as Erika Sakura, but that is a pen name used by Yuki. 'They're going to kill me!' My mother ran away from her abusive husband with only the clothes on her back. From that day, our struggle to protect my mother began. Near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences, premonitions of life and death... This is my non-fiction memoir of staying by my mother's side in her final moments and continually reflecting on the meaning of life. A few months after the mysterious occurrences of things cracking, tearing, and breaking continued... My mother began to predict her own lifespan, suddenly saying things like, 'I won't be around much longer.' And indeed, just four days after her divorce from her abusive husband was finalized, she suddenly collapsed and passed away. But until that moment, none of us had believed her words. Sakurado Fortune Parlor — The Soul's Story: Prologue +8

Sakurado Fortune Parlor — The Soul's Story: Prologue

◎B6 / 120 pages · Includes mini oracle cards (sample oracle cards may be shown) [Synopsis] On a rainy night, a young man was crouching under the eaves of a fortune-telling shop. His name is Kaito. No home, no job, nowhere to go. "You'll be living here," said Sakura Fujinomiya, the owner of the fortune parlor "Sakurado." Though half in doubt, Kaito ends up finding a place to belong in this fortune shop. Sakura is an experienced fortune teller. However, she does not "see spirits." While she makes full use of divination techniques, she often struggles thinking, "If only I had a stronger power." On the other hand, Kaito is a young man carrying deep wounds from his past. Having almost lost the meaning of life, he slowly begins to change as he sees the various clients who visit Sakurado. "Sensei, does fortune-telling decide the future?" "No. It helps you 'find' the future." People who are lost in life visit the fortune parlor "Sakurado." There, today as well, fate is quietly turned over —.

I write novels and essays that are close to the heart, using the deceased and the spirit world as motifs. I also share insights drawn from my experience as a fortune-teller. I run a physical salon in Yamanashi. Debuted as a street fortune-teller in 2007. After appearances at several fortune-telling houses such as Harajuku and Kofu and standing by for telephone readings, I went independent. At the same time, I have contributed extensively as a writer specializing in fortune-telling for apps and web content. Returning Doujin Creator: 24 Months

Returning Doujin Creator: 24 Months

In the fifteenth year after I stopped drawing manga, I suddenly got hooked again and restarted creating. Printing companies, how to take part in doujinshi events — everything has changed, and the "norms" of today's doujin activities are a storm of generation gaps. I don't even know whether the way I express my own manga will reach modern readers. So I decided to try bringing my work to professional editors at events! A bittersweet essay about creation, where you can't get away with the same overexertion as in the past. Note: sold only at events; text-only.

There are way too many festival days in Nagoya. To unravel that mystery, we set out into the streets of Nagoya... A small travel-essay collection that walks only Nagoya's festival days: the time-attack event in Kakuozan that has continued since the Meiji era; the fervor of Bon Odori where each area has different favorite J‑POP songs; Osu's largest festival day, which hands out mochi and even features cosplay on weekdays; and more. Text only. B6 size, 32 pages. Also available as an e-book (PDF/EPUB) on Booth. You can preview a sample here. https://fufudori.booth.pm/

Casual Reminiscences of Travel +3

Casual Reminiscences of Travel

An essay collection by a solo female traveler who, before she knew it, had visited 22 places across Japan from Tohoku to Kyushu. Visits to locations that served as models for Taiga dramas, manga, and games for re-experiencing history and picking up trivia; a trip comparing overnight ferries departing from Osaka; visits to old houses, former red-light districts, and even places like "Oni-no-kubi". A travelogue ranging from shallow visits made out of mere curiosity to occasional deep dives. Text only. B6 format, 60 pages. Available as an e-book (PDF/EPUB) on Booth. You can also read a sample here: https://fufudori.booth.pm/

How vividly can you picture an apple in your mind? +3

How vividly can you picture an apple in your mind?

Theme: "Independent Cognitive Science Project — Aphantasia" This is a collection of hypotheses based on the concept of aphantasia, proposing that differences that appear as personality or ability may actually arise from differences in the vividness of visual imagery. I am not incapable of forming mental images, but I am not particularly good at it. My mother has aphantasia — she cannot form mental images at all. On the other hand, my friends and partner can vividly form images in their minds. Through conversations between people whose brains work differently, I realized that this "difference in the vividness of visual imagery" might affect how people listen to stories, verbalize things, behave, and even their preferences, so I summarized these ideas as hypotheses. It allows you to re-recognize that the world you see is not necessarily the same as others'. I believe that if the concept of aphantasia becomes widely known, it could greatly help self-understanding, understanding others, and even education. This is interesting reading for both people with aphantasia and those without. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Table of Contents Introduction Hypothesis 1: Differences in how people listen to stories Hypothesis 2: Differences in verbalization Hypothesis 3: Differences in input Hypothesis 4: Differences in book preferences Hypothesis 5: Differences in initiative/action Hypothesis 6: Opposite natures can be compatible Afterword ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Pages: 20
