    Zindies Opening Event@Tokyo

Zindies is a service that connects creators, delivery people, and enthusiasts around ZINEs as works, creating a world where many new works are born. https://zindies.co/ It is a service we have been developing since 2025, and it has finally reached a point of release. We will hold opening events in Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo, and online, and this time, it's the 'Tokyo edition'. Zindies users are diverse, including 'creators', 'readers', and 'people who want to create ZINEs', but in the Tokyo edition, we'd like to consider the future of ZINEs, focusing on those who operate hubs for ZINEs, such as 'bookstores' and 'co-working spaces'. While we will explain the service, more important are the voices of those who run each place. Therefore, we are inviting Masayuki Waikei, who is extremely knowledgeable about independent bookstores in Japan, and Tomoo Ito, chairman of the Co-working Cooperative, to a talk session on the theme 'How to Create a World Where ZINEs Are Everywhere'. Furthermore, we will hold a 'ZINE Fair', a real-life event that reproduces ZIndies' concept of connecting ZINE creators and stores. In this case, 'stores' include not only bookstores and co-working spaces but anywhere interested in ZINEs and would like to display them. ZINE creators are welcome to bring samples. Approximate timetable: 19:00-19:10: Explanation of Zindies' service concept and overview (Development: Chikura) 19:10-19:45: Talk session 'How to Create a World Where ZINEs Are Everywhere' (Masayuki Waikei & Tomoo Ito) 19:45-19:50: (Break) 19:50-21:00: Real Zindies 'ZINE Fair β Version' (in a social gathering format, allowing interactions between stores and ZINE creators) We hope the following people will join us: * Store operators (not only bookstores and co-working spaces; anyone interested in or considering displaying ZINEs is welcome) * ZINE creators * Those interested in the ZINE movement This time, we are borrowing the lounge from Heartbeats, located in Shinjuku Gyoenmae, for this event. Heartbeats is a company engaged in maintenance and operation of internet services, and after we talked about the concept of Zindies, they kindly offered the venue with their support. Sharing on X, Instagram, note, etc., using the hashtag #zindies is very welcome before, during, and after the event. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse participation to any individuals engaged in multi-level marketing solicitation or other business purposes deemed incompatible with the event's objectives by the organizers.
