Publishing newcomers, early-career editors, and Mishima (Mishima-sha) think together" Mishima, representative of Mishima-sha; Yasui, a fourth-year editor in the editorial department of Gakugei Publishing; and Ishibashi, a graduate student aspiring to become an editor, will discuss "the future of publishing." From three different perspectives with different experience and positions, we'll consider the realities of the publishing field, basic questions, and the possibilities for publishing together with participants. Now held monthly! Following the very positive reception at the last session, the “Philosophy Dialogue” will now be held regularly once a month. Philosophy Dialogue is a space where people take time to think together, put thoughts into words, and listen to each other about questions that have no single correct answer. There’s no need to worry, “Will this sound strange?” or “Do I need special knowledge to join?” Bring the little nagging questions from everyday life or sudden curiosities and try talking about them in your own words at a relaxed pace. Newcomers and repeat participants alike are very welcome. We look forward to your participation. The facilitator, as in the previous session, will be Kazunori Yamamoto (Philosophy Practitioner / author of "Philosophy Dialogue Diary"). To celebrate the publication of the new book "Shinji Ishii — Phonograph Conversations: Putting Sound into a Vessel", we will hold a talk event with the author Shinji Ishii (@ishii_shinji_official) and the editor Makoto Kawazoe (Tankosha @tankosha_ed). The project for "Phonograph Conversations: Putting Sound into a Vessel" began before the coronavirus pandemic, in 2017. How did this book finally reach completion? They will talk about the trajectory of the book’s creation and various stories surrounding it. Ishii's phonograph will, of course, make an appearance! What kind of sound will it produce as it vibrates the air at Saibundo | saibundo? Please join us to enjoy the talk and the music.
