Find a book that catches your eye — the New Works Digest, by email
Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Hello! This is the Zindies team.
To everyone with a shop registered on Zindies: how do you come across the zines you'd like to carry?
At events, on social media timelines, through creators bringing their work to your door — encounters take many forms. But the news that a creator you know has published something new travels surprisingly poorly.
So we built the New Works Digest: an email that delivers works newly published on Zindies to everyone who runs a shop. It arrives around 7:30 each morning, bundling everything published up to the day before into a single message. On days with nothing new, no email is sent.
New works from creators you carry, at a glance
The email is divided into two parts.
- From creators you carry — new works by creators whose works your shop stocks
- From creators you don't carry yet — new works by creators you haven't met
On days when a creator you carry has published something, the subject line tells you so. Pressing "Discuss in your contact note" opens your contact note with the new work already checked, so sending a quick "shall we stock the new one?" takes seconds.
Works from creators you don't carry come with their trading stance
New works from creators you don't carry yet come with the creator's published trading stance — their consignment terms and hopes for how their works are carried.
The stance is simply what the creator would be happy with. If a work feels right for your shop, take a look at their page and use the stance as a starting point when you reach out.
Where the email goes, and how to stop it
This email goes to everyone with a shop registered on Zindies. If you don't need it, you can turn it off anytime from "New works digest (for shops)" in your notification settings.
To creators
Your new works appear in this email only when "accept contact from shops" in your trading stance is turned on. A shop being able to reach you is the premise of this digest.
Writing your hopes into the trading stance also means shops meeting you for the first time receive your new work together with what they need to decide. You can set both from "Trading stance" on your creator home.
Publish a work, and by the next morning it reaches the inboxes of shops across the country. Your new work, and a shop somewhere — may each find a good encounter.
